Experimental R&B artist Xora Xora, or simply XORA, brings poetic, R&B vocals and enchanting harmonies, paired with new-age synths & hip-hop influences.

Born to a Trinidadian mother and father, XORA is the second oldest of 4 first-generation Caribbean-American daughters. A multi-media artist, feminist, and nature lover, XORA is inspired by her parents’ hometown of Port of Spain, and their vinyl collection of

late 70s and 80s hit artists such as

Phil Collins, Donna Summer, Al Green, and many more.

A pianist, violinist, singer, and advocate for loud bass, XORA aims to produce a sound that waves from emotional depths to new age funk, with a laid back California vibe. In the early summer of 2018, XORA released her first self-produced EP “Lonely Days,” that tests and reviews broken relationships and the hope for interpersonal growth amongst her peers in the midst of the digital age.

Since then, XORA has collaborated with various artists from the Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York, Baltimore and Philly. Whether it’s adding a vocal feature or assisting in arrangement and production, XORA has helped sync up the vibes of various metropolitan areas. XORA has also established herself as a notable DJ in the Bay Area, moving from in-person parties with a Funk & Soul group called SAUCE pre-pandemic, to her own Lower Grand Radio station monthly residency. XORA’s 2-year running radio show, “Cool Off!” features mixes of her favorite musicians she has met in her travels and online music discoveries, with hip-hop and R&B of the past and now.

XORA’s next releases promise a blend of hypnotic harmonies, soothing melodies, and production collaborations incorporating feel-good aspects of late 70s disco and 2010s experimental hip-hop. Meanwhile,

XORA is diving deep into healing, using rituals and other spiritual totems to conjure what she believes can help soothe most illnesses through sound.

XORA’s passion for art doesn’t stop with music.

Once connected with a local film company, Our Time Films, in late 2019, XORA landed a role as a waitress in the movie “Hella Single” which premiered in November 2020, as well as the role of Rose B, a female drug lord in the series “Divine Living” which has won numerous film festival awards since the 2nd and 3rd episode releases in 2021. This reinvigorated Xora’s interest in script writing and she is now co-writing a new TV series pilot.

XORA is also signed to Onyx Unity, a New York and Los Angeles based modeling agency, as an acting model and can be booked for brand photoshoots through the agencies website.
